Become a Kelvin TOP-SET Trainer

If you are an experienced investigator, you can roll out the world-leading Kelvin TOP-SET 1-Day Investigator Course throughout your own company. This is the most cost-effective way to achieve an improved, consistent and standardised approach to investigating incidents.

Schedule

The 1-Day Train-the-Trainer course spans two days, starting in the late afternoon of day one with a short introductory session, where a task is set for completion prior to day two, which ends around 2.30pm.

On the course, you will learn how to teach the 1-Day Investigator Course, and will be given total coverage of all course content, exercises and case studies, and the materials that support the course. Assessment tasks include a multiple-choice test and 15-minute presentation to demonstrate knowledge and teaching skills.

Upon successful course completion, and subsequent payment of the licence fee, you will receive a Kelvin TOP-SET Licence Certificate and access to the following:

This contains all the essential materials you will need, along with additional resources to support your training, to ensure excellent delivery of the TOP-SET 1-Day Investigator Course within your organisation.

Ongoing Professional Development

TOP-SET Trainers are also given a FREE personal login to two e-learning courses:

1. ‘e-Investigation: Fundamentals of the TOP-SET System’ and

2. ‘e-Root Cause Analysis’

These short courses are excellent as a personal refresher or, if you’ve let your licence lapse by over a year but would like to teach again, you can complete both courses, at no cost, to reinstate your licence.

Course Materials for Delegates

To run a course, simply order all the materials you will need for each participant using the order forms on the Tutor Zone, and they will be sent to wherever you need them. This ensures consistent course delivery and that all delegates have the necessary tools to investigate incidents as and when needed. Your course delegates can then receive access to the TOP-SET App and be sent their official TOP-SET 1-Day Investigator certificate and CPD certificate (7 hrs).

Individual delegate packs (including workbook) cost £49.

Individual delegate access to ‘e-Investigation: Fundamentals of the TOP-SET System’ e-learning course costs £49.

As a TOP-SET in-company Trainer, you can purchase either the physical course packs, the e-learning course, or both to suit your delivery requirements.

e-Investigation: Fundamentals of the TOP-SET System e-learning course

This online e-learning course is only available to in-company TOP-SET Trainers and can be used to support remote training or as required.

This comprehensive, self-run course takes under 3hrs and covers all six steps of the TOP-SET investigation process. Users can print out their own certificate on completion.

Instruction Method

Train-the-Trainer courses are run publicly (globally) and are also available as in-company courses. They are frequently held immediately following a 3-Day Senior Investigator Course, though can be standalone. This course is currently only held in-person. Kelvin TOP-SET reserves the right to attend any course for quality control purposes.

Prerequisites

To become a TOP-SET Trainer in your company, you need to attend, or have attended in the last 12 months, the 3-Day Senior Investigator Course. (If not, please contact [email protected] | +44 (0) 1475 560 007)

A Licence Agreement between Kelvin TOP-SET and the Trainer’s Company is then required. This permits the TOP-SET Trainer to:

·teach the TOP-SET 1-Day Investigator Course to anyone, and any number, within their own company and joint venture organisations;

·access and purchase all required course materials for their delegates;

·benefit from comprehensive support from the TOP-SET team.

The Annual Licence Fee costs £1,800 per Trainer (payable in GBP each May). This is your Kelvin TOP-SET Trainer Licence, so if you move company, you can still be a TOP-SET Trainer, as long as the fee is paid.
