Ascot Ladies Day – Raising Money For Cash For Kids at the Seamill Hydro

kelvintop-set News

It was Ladies Day at Royal Ascot yesterday and two lucky Kelvin TOP-SET staff members, Irene McNeil and Hazel Pearson, donned their best hats and headed to a fantastic day out at the Cash For Kids charity event at the Seamill Hydro hotel to mark the occasion.

Everyone got involved with the action at Ascot with live bets on all of the day’s racing (with a proportion of all bets placed going to charity.) There was a fabulous three course dinner served courtesy of the Seamill Hydro and there were plenty of other ways to encourage guests to donate to the appeal with a charity auction, raffle and pop-up shops.

Guests arrived to be welcomed by a customised double decker Routemaster bus complete with bar and finished the day off with some dancing!

In total the event raised over £11,000 – not bad for a day out at the races!

Cash for Kids lends a helping hand to disabled and disadvantaged children aged 0 to 18 years across 21 areas in the UK by means of a grant giving process. Grants awarded go towards buying specialist equipment for children to enhance their quality of life. They are given to children’s charities and organisations to help them undertake projects and new initiatives or to ensure that much needed services can continue to provide essential care and support. All the money raised on behalf of Cash for Kids stays in the area it was raised in providing a helping hand when and where it is needed most and with one in three children in North Ayrshire currently living in poverty, the money raised at the event really is going to a good cause.
